Merton Park Primary School

Merton School PrimaryMerton School Primary

Pupils do exceptionally well at this school, in terms of both their academic and personal development.

Leaders, including governors, are relentless in their ambition to make this school the best it can be.

The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. Pupils have excellent attitudes to learning. They work hard at all times and persevere with tasks that are frequently challenging.

The warm, mutually supportive relationships that staff and pupils have with each other make this a very caring, nurturing school.

Provision in the Early Years is outstanding. Children make rapid and sustained progress due to excellent teaching and imaginative activities.

The curriculum is excellent. It promotes a real love for learning in pupils, as they have many opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills within a real-life context.

Hello Big Ben Class!

It is finally the Easter Holiday, your homeschooling duties have been relinquished for the next two weeks!

However, if you are in need of some ideas to keep busy then feel free to take a look at the 'whole school resources' page on the website.

I and the reception teachers have also created this nature challenge, you could do your very own well walks!

Some Tapestry observations are showing that some children are becoming confident in writing their name. Here is a Read Write INC letter formation sheet to support your child whilst learning to write their letters. Please only use this if your child is already confident and enthusiastic about writing their name and needs a bit more of a challenge. Also, here is how you pronounce the sounds correctly- perfect for Eye Spy games.

Finally, here is a fun cutting and mindfulness activity which the whole family could enjoy doing.

Have a lovely two weeks,

Miss O'Reilly and the nursery team.

Every day, after the register we do 'Rag Gym'. This really helps us to wake up and get ready for our day. The Moves are specifically designed to support children with their coordination, shoulder, elbow and wrist pivots- not to mention it's lots of fun! Check out the video.
